REFX Privacy Policy

REFX ("we", "our", or "us") is an aviation safety awareness app built for pilots. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Device identifier — a randomly generated ID stored on your device, used to save your preferences and reading history locally.
• Push notification token — to send you daily safety cases and content. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.
• Profile preferences — aircraft type, certificate level, and total hours if you choose to enter them. This is optional and used only to personalize content.
• Reading history — cases you have read or saved, stored to avoid repeating content.

What We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect your name or email for account creation. If you subscribe, your purchase is processed by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy. We receive only an anonymous subscriber token, not your personal details.
• We do not track your location.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Data Storage

Your preferences and reading history are stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider. Data is associated with your anonymous device ID only.

Push Notifications

We send daily push notifications containing aviation safety content. Notifications are delivered via Expo's push notification service. You can opt out at any time through your device's notification settings.

Children's Privacy

REFX is intended for licensed pilots and aviation students. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will update the effective date above when changes are made.
